Sneak Peeks and Bonus!

Hello world full of gorgeous people! Yes, all of you are beautiful, sounds corny and all but it don't mean it ain't true! Anyway...I hope you've had a wonderful week so far. If not, well...I'll wish really hard for a fabulous next week. Ahhh, I'm just full of love and caring today (hopefully it'll stay that way for a while). Here's a sneak peak at some pinups I'm working on for a friend. If you'd like me to draw you some characters, portraits, heck anything, hit me up! cbenillustration@gmail.com I'm currently taking commissions and stuff. If you don't, spread the word to your friends anyway! Artists gotta eat somehow haha

And I have a bonus today! Here's the final jacket for the latest book I illustrated together with the help of Jason Piperberg. The book is already being printed and will be sold in Dominican Republic and in Germany! WOOT! Go International sales! Oh, did I mention? Thanks to the amazing author, the inside illustrations will be printed in full color! Ahhhh, so busy but happy. Sorry about the low res. I'll make another post once I have a hard copy of it, it's actually a pretty interesting book (I'll definitely talk more about it later).

I hope you have a beautiful weekend full of happy adventures. Love you all! Stay true and beautiful <3

Salsa Picante!

Hello again beautiful earthlings!

I hope this week has been pleasant, if not I will keep hoping for more pleasant weeks for all of you. I know I’ve been having somewhat of a tough time balancing work and wellness. I’m sure you can all relate to the sleepless nights and all that jazz. Anyway! I have yet to release this because it has not yet been printed. but again, I got permission from the client recently so here it is.

This baby had a lot of variations but I think after a few tweaks here and there this hot sauce label will be ready to hit the market. I’m not sure it will be sold in the U.S., but at least eventually it will be selling period (hopefully…crossing my fingers on that one still). It was a very difficult feat since I tend to be very spontaneous with my work. But nonetheless it’s good to exercise some precision and this definitely took a lot of precision and reworking, and rulers, and exact measurements.

I hope you enjoy your weekend! Peace, love, don't forget to stay true and beautiful <3

Published on Print!

Hello world! slowly churning out great things for you to see. A while back I did a cover for a short story book that was published on Itunes and Amazon. I made a post about it once it was published which you can see here.

But now the book has gone to print! I'm very excited about it and I strongly believe I will be getting more opportunities like this in the future. Looks like my career is going in this direction now. I am currently working on so many things right now it's just so difficult to keep up. Anyway! Hope you enjoy these silly pictures and that you have a great weekend!

Back from Hiatus

Hello world! After a few months of priority to my health (eating habits and a bit of soul search) I am back hopefully for good. I'm still really busy, so I'll be keeping my posts relatively short. Unfortunately, a lot of the work I've been doing is still pending publication, but here I have FOUR pieces I finished last month on a Dominican book of short stories called El Polvo del Camino. It's still being printed as far as I know but I got permission from the writer to post the art on my website. Hope you enjoy! Not sure when I get a copy but I'll definitely make a part two to this post so you can see how the book looks. Until next time stay true and beautiful.

Holiday Special Coming Up!

Hey guys! Sorry it’s been so long since I posted a full piece. I have a lot to show you but most of it hasn’t been published yet so have to keep it on the DL for now. These are sneak peaks of two pieces I did for C.O.P.O.U.T comics. First friday of December, if you’re around town, make sure to stop by Old City in Philadelphia and get some free issues plus more!
If you can’t make it to Philly it’s ok, you can still read all the great stories in C.O.P.O.U.T’s official Tumblr.

Chocolatechips & Rocketchips

Hey guys! I hope your week went well. I wanted to share this illustration I did for an upcoming book called Chocolatechips & Rocketships. It's 99 1/2 poems in 100 days, a great book full of witty poems and amazing illustrations by artists from all over the world including Marc SheffAndy Hood and myself. I posted sketches for this commission a while back on a previous wordpress post called Food Sketches. Give this book some support! It's still underway but you can still check out the poems on the website. Click on the image to see it featured on the website!
Enjoy and stay tuned. More awesome work coming up next week!
Until next time stay true and beautiful <3

Updates & Sneak Peaks

Hey all! I finally moved in to Madison. Place is great, but that’s a post for another time. Today I wanted to post some of the things I’m working on. It’s all sneak peaks but I’m juggling so many jobs right now it’s kinda difficult to keep you guys updated on all of them. I can promise one thing, if you stick around you won’t regret it. Lots of awesome images coming up. Below is an original character (Yuri) I drew for someone special (you know who you are, hope you like it). I took the opportunity to try out a new painting technique that proved to be really fun and have really awesome results. Below it is a very small sneak peak of something else I’m working on which you’ll all see very soon. Stay tuned folks, until next week!
